Sleep Study....
MDsleep provides a service which is known as a PSG, or polysomnography test. This test is ordered by a physician and used to diagnose a patient with a sleep disorder. A sleep disorder is a medical disorder of the sleep patterns of a person, and it is serious enough to affect normal physical, mental, and emotional function. Most people think of OSA or obstructive sleep disorder as one of the main disorders; however there are over one 90 different types of sleep disorders. A study is conducted when a sleep technician places leads in varies areas and records brain activity, eye movement, heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, and body movement. That data is analyzed and a conclusion is determined from there. If the patient is positive, a second study will be conducted, which is called a titration study.
Our facility also provides equipment for the patient if the insurance company wants home testing done first. We contact the patient and set-up a time that works to arrange for a single night of testing. The unit is patient friendly and has a less than 1% failure rate. The same day it is returned to MDsleep, it will be downloaded and the patient will be given feedback from the night the study took place.
